Corrosion coupons are a simple and effective tool for providing a quantitative estimation of corrosion rates occurring in an operating system. They also provide a visual indication of the type of corrosion which may be occurring in the monitored system. Sewon standard coupons are grit-blasted and furnished with insulation for mounting. The coupon is supplied with the coupon holder. Coupons manufactured from any material and dimension are available on request. Material may be customer-supplied to match an existing system.

1.C1018 coupons are stamped with a sequence number.

2.All alloy coupons are stamped with the alloy and the sequence number.

3.Coupons are pre-weighed and individually packaged in a vapor corrosion inhibitor (VCI) bag.

4.Coupons are supplied with a mill test report and a weight log chart.

5.Coupons are cleaned of all contaminants and have a 120 grit-blasted finish.

6.Teflon insulators are mounted into coupons as standard.

Coupon Insulation

Sewon standard coupons come furnished complete with insulation made from MC nylon, which has a temperature rating of 220℉(120℃). Insulation for higher temperature requirements is available and should be specified when required. The higher temperature insulation materials are:

- Teflon - 500℉ (260℃)

- Rulon - 550℉ (288℃)

- Ceramic - 1472℉ (800℃)
